Garlic Cheddar Beer Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 (12 oz) bottle of beer (room temperature, any kind you like)
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter (divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and garlic powder.
  3. Add cheese: Stir in the shredded cheddar until evenly coated with flour mixture.
  4. Pour in beer: Add the beer and stir until just combined. Do not overmix—the batter will be lumpy and thick.
  5. Add to pan: Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
  6. Top with butter: Pour 2 tablespoons of melted butter over the top.
  7. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Brush with more butter: Immediately after baking, brush the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter over the warm bread for extra flavor.
  9. Cool and serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!
