This dish is a luxurious seafood feast! Tender lobster and succulent scallops are bathed in a rich garlic butter sauce, making it a truly special occasion meal.
Ingredients:
- For the Seafood:
- 1 (1.5-2 lb) live lobster, cleaned and split in half
- 1 lb sea scallops, cleaned and patted dry
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Seafood:
- If using live lobster, bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Carefully drop the lobster in and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until bright red. Remove from the pot and let cool slightly.
- Season the scallops with salt and pepper.
- Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the white wine (or broth) and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer and cook for a few minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly.
- Stir in the parsley and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Cook the Seafood:
- Add the lobster halves and scallops to the skillet with the sauce.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the scallops are opaque and cooked through.
- Serve:
- Arrange the lobster and scallops on a platter and spoon the garlic butter sauce over them.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Tips & Variations:
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of dried oregano or thyme to the garlic butter sauce.
- Serve with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
- You can substitute shrimp for the scallops, or use a combination of both.
- Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice over the finished dish for extra brightness.
