Garlic Butter Baked Scallops

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) sea scallops, cleaned and patted dry
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  2. Prepare garlic butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, and half of the chopped parsley.
  3. Arrange scallops: Place the scallops in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Season with salt and pepper. Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the scallops.
  4. Add cheese & paprika: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and paprika evenly over the top.
  5. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the scallops are opaque and cooked through. If you’d like a golden top, broil for an extra 1-2 minutes at the end.
  6. Garnish & serve: Sprinkle with the remaining parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges if desired.
