This recipe creates intensely fudgy chocolate brownies topped with a smooth and decadent chocolate ganache. These brownies are rich, moist, and deeply chocolatey, perfect for satisfying any chocolate craving. The ganache adds an extra layer of indulgence, making them an irresistible treat.

Ingredients:

For the Brownies:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

For the Chocolate Ganache:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or dark chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

Brownies:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides.
  2. Melt Butter and Sugar: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Add Cocoa and Salt: Whisk in the cocoa powder and salt until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Stir in Vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Add Eggs: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Add Flour: Gradually add the flour and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  7. Pour into Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached. Do not overbake for fudgy brownies.
  9. Cool Completely: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before adding the ganache. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the brownies out of the pan.

Chocolate Ganache:

  1. Heat Cream: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer around the edges. Do not boil.
  2. Pour Over Chocolate: Remove the cream from the heat and pour it over the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.
  3. Let Sit: Let the mixture sit for 2-3 minutes without stirring to allow the chocolate to melt.
  4. Stir Until Smooth: Gently stir the chocolate and cream together until smooth and glossy.
  5. Frost Brownies: Once the brownies are completely cool, pour the chocolate ganache over the top and spread evenly.
  6. Set Ganache: Let the ganache set at room temperature for about 30 minutes or in the refrigerator for a faster set.
  7. Cut and Serve: Cut the brownies into squares and serve.

Tips and Notes:

  • Fudgy Texture: For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake them.
  • Cocoa Powder: Use high-quality unsweetened cocoa powder for the best chocolate flavor.
  • Ganache Consistency: If the ganache is too thick, add a teaspoon of warm cream. If it’s too thin, let it sit at room temperature or refrigerate briefly.
  • Variations: You can add nuts, chocolate chunks, or other mix-ins to the brownie batter.
  • Storage: Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Enjoy these incredibly fudgy chocolate brownies with a luscious chocolate ganache!
