These brownies are intensely chocolatey, fudgy, and have a crackly top. They’re perfect for any occasion and easy to make!
Ingredients:
- Dry Ingredients:
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder (high-quality)
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Wet Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick or 113g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (about 100g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, for extra chocolate chunks)
Instructions:
- Prep:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line an 8×8 inch or 9×9 inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
- Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine Wet Ingredients:
- In a larger bowl, whisk the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine Wet and Dry:
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.
- If adding chocolate chips, gently fold them into the batter.
- Bake:
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter). The top should have a crackly appearance.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Tips for Extra Fudginess:
- Don’t overbake! Slightly underbaked brownies are much fudgier.
- Use high-quality cocoa powder for the best flavor.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting. This will help them set properly.
Enjoy your delicious homemade brownies!
