Fudgy Chocolate Brownies Recipe

These brownies are intensely chocolatey, fudgy, and have a crackly top. They’re perfect for any occasion and easy to make!

Ingredients:

  • Dry Ingredients:
    • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder (high-quality)
    • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Wet Ingredients:
    • 1/2 cup (1 stick or 113g) unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup (about 100g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, for extra chocolate chunks)

Instructions:

  1. Prep:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line an 8×8 inch or 9×9 inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients:
    • In a larger bowl, whisk the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry:
    • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.
    • If adding chocolate chips, gently fold them into the batter.
  5. Bake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
    • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter). The top should have a crackly appearance.
  6. Cool and Serve:
    • Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang.
    • Cut into squares and serve.

Tips for Extra Fudginess:

  • Don’t overbake! Slightly underbaked brownies are much fudgier.
  • Use high-quality cocoa powder for the best flavor.
  • Allow to cool completely before cutting. This will help them set properly.

Enjoy your delicious homemade brownies!
