Ingredients
- 8 slices white bread (soft, sandwich-style)
- 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries (chopped) or strawberry jam
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)
- Oil, for frying
- Extra powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture on one slice of bread. Top with chopped strawberries or a spoonful of strawberry jam. Place another slice of bread on top to make a sandwich.
- Press the edges firmly to seal. You can trim the crusts if you like for a cleaner look.
- Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
- Coat each sandwich in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat well with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or pan over medium heat. Fry sandwiches until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Would you like me to also add a quick dipping sauce (like a strawberry glaze or chocolate sauce) to go with these?
