Ingredients
- 200g halloumi cheese
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil (or use non-stick spray)
- Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
- Lemon wedges, for serving
- Fresh herbs (like mint or parsley), for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Slice the halloumi: Cut the halloumi into ½-inch thick slices. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Heat the oil: Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Fry the cheese: Add the halloumi slices to the pan in a single layer. Fry for about 1–2 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crisp.
- Drain and season: Remove from the pan and place on paper towels to absorb extra oil. Sprinkle with black pepper if desired.
- Serve immediately: Serve warm with lemon wedges and garnish with fresh herbs.
