Fresh Tomato Salad


INGREDIENTS

  • 4 large ripe tomatoes, sliced or chopped
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (or lemon juice for a tangier flavor)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Crumbled feta or mozzarella balls for extra richness

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced tomatoes and red onion.
  2. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar (or lemon juice).
  3. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. Gently toss to coat all ingredients evenly.
  5. Add fresh basil and optional cheese just before serving.
