- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add in the egg, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
- Stir in salt, flour, baking powder, and cinnamon (if using). Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
