Optional: fruits, nuts, or chocolate chips for added flavor
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well until combined.
Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until you achieve a smooth batter. Be careful not to overmix.
Preheat a non-stick pan with a lid over low heat. Lightly grease the pan with butter or oil.
Pour the batter into the pan, spreading it evenly. You can add optional fruits, nuts, or chocolate chips on top if desired.
Cover the pan with the lid and let the cake cook on low heat for about 20-25 minutes. Avoid lifting the lid too often to maintain an even temperature.
After about 20 minutes, check the cake by inserting a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, your cake is done. If not, cook for a few more minutes.
Once done, remove the cake from the pan and allow it to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Serve the cake warm or at room temperature, and enjoy!
