Ingredients:

  • 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast  
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes, or until foamy.
  2. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour and salt to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
