Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm milk (about 110°F)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast: In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
- Shape the Bread: Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let it rise again for 30–45 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool & Serve: Let the bread cool before slicing. Enjoy!
