Fluffy Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups (440g) all-purpose flour or bread flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (240ml) warm milk (about 110°F/45°C)
  • ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  3. Combine Wet & Dry: Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the Dough: Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Shape & Second Rise: Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf or rolls, and place in a greased baking pan. Cover and let rise for another 30–45 minutes.
  7. Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
