Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (not hot)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg (optional, for extra softness)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, butter, and egg (if using). Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or rolls. Place in a greased baking pan.
  6. Cover and let rise again for 30–40 minutes.
  7. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Brush the top with melted butter for extra softness.
