This rich and decadent flourless cake is perfect for chocolate lovers! Its dense, fudgy texture and deep chocolate flavor make it a showstopper for any occasion, and it’s naturally gluten-free. Serve it with a dusting of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (6 oz) semisweet or dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- Melt the chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
- Stir in the sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the mixture is glossy.
- Sift in the cocoa powder and fold gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired. Enjoy!
