Flavorful recipe for Oven Baked Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings (split at joints, tips removed)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (aluminum-free)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper or chili powder (for heat)
  • Your favorite wing sauce or dip (e.g., buffalo, BBQ, ranch, blue cheese)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Lightly grease the rack with cooking spray.
  2. Pat chicken wings very dry with paper towels. The drier they are, the crispier they’ll get.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the baking powder, salt, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne/chili powder if using.
  4. Toss the chicken wings in the spice mixture until evenly coated.
  5. Arrange wings in a single layer on the prepared rack.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes. Flip the wings and bake for another 20–25 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  7. Optional: Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for extra crispiness.
  8. Remove from oven and toss immediately in your favorite wing sauce or serve dry with dips on the side.
