Ingredients

  • 4 (6 oz) filet mignon steaks

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filet Mignon:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Season the filet mignon steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat olive oil and butter in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear each side for about 3 minutes until browned.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust the time according to your desired doneness.
  • Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate while you prepare the sauce.
  1. Make the Creamy Mushroom Sauce:
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  • Stir in the beef broth, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  • Reduce the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Spoon the creamy mushroom sauce over the rested filet mignon steaks.
