Fresh rosemary or mint leaves (for garnish, optional)
Toasted bread or crackers, for serving
👩🍳 Instructions
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Feta: Place the block of feta in a small baking dish. Drizzle olive oil over the top.
Add Toppings: Scatter chopped walnuts around and slightly over the feta. Arrange the fig halves around the cheese. Sprinkle thyme, red pepper flakes, and black pepper on top.
Bake: Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the feta is soft and slightly golden on top. The inside will become warm and creamy — like a savory “lava” center.
Finish with Honey: Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle generously with honey.
Garnish & Serve: Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm with toasted bread or crackers.
✨ Tips
For extra creaminess, use authentic Greek feta made from sheep’s milk.
If you want a crispier top, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
Add a splash of balsamic glaze for deeper flavor.
This dish pairs beautifully with white wine like Sauvignon Blanc.
Serve immediately while warm for the best “lava” texture effect.
