Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (optional)
- ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, gruyère, or parmesan)
- ½ cup cooked ham, bacon bits, or sun-dried tomatoes (optional)
- Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, or parsley), chopped
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unfold the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Gently roll it out to smooth any folds.
- Brush a thin layer of Dijon mustard over the pastry (optional for extra flavor).
- Sprinkle evenly with shredded cheese, ham/bacon/tomatoes, and chopped herbs. Season lightly with salt & pepper.
- Cut into squares, strips, or twist shapes as desired.
- Place pieces on the prepared baking sheet. Beat the egg and brush over the tops for a golden finish.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
