Eat chicken feet

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken feet, cleaned and nails trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, sliced
  • 1 star anise (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Green onions and sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Clean and Prep: Thoroughly wash chicken feet. Trim off nails using kitchen scissors.
  2. Blanch: In a pot of boiling water, blanch chicken feet for 5 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: In a pan, heat a bit of oil. Add garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant.
  4. Simmer: Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, star anise, and water. Add chicken feet. Cover and simmer on low for 1 to 1.5 hours until feet are tender.
  5. Thicken Sauce (Optional): For a stickier finish, uncover and simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes until sauce thickens.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve warm.
