- 1 lb chicken feet, cleaned and nails trimmed
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, sliced
- 1 star anise (optional)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup water
- Green onions and sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Clean and Prep: Thoroughly wash chicken feet. Trim off nails using kitchen scissors.
- Blanch: In a pot of boiling water, blanch chicken feet for 5 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water.
- Sauté Aromatics: In a pan, heat a bit of oil. Add garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant.
- Simmer: Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, star anise, and water. Add chicken feet. Cover and simmer on low for 1 to 1.5 hours until feet are tender.
- Thicken Sauce (Optional): For a stickier finish, uncover and simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Garnish and Serve: Top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve warm.
