This is a simple and delicious no-churn ice cream recipe that requires minimal ingredients and no special equipment.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, but recommended)
- Optional mix-ins: chocolate chips, fruit, cookies, nuts, etc.
Instructions:
- Whip the Cream: In a large bowl, pour the heavy cream. Using an electric mixer (handheld or stand mixer) with the whisk attachment, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. This means the cream will hold its shape when the beaters are lifted.
- Combine Ingredients: In a separate bowl, pour the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract (if using). Gently fold the whipped cream into the sweetened condensed milk mixture using a spatula. Be careful not to overmix, as this can deflate the whipped cream.
- Add Mix-ins (Optional): If you’d like to add mix-ins, gently fold them into the ice cream base now.
- Freeze: Pour the ice cream mixture into a freezer-safe container. A loaf pan or a plastic container with a lid works well. Cover the container tightly with a lid or plastic wrap.
- Freeze for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight: This allows the ice cream to fully solidify.
- Serve: Scoop and enjoy your homemade ice cream!
