Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons instant coffee or 1 cup strong brewed coffee
- 2 tablespoons organic cocoa powder (optional, for deeper brown tones)
- 1 cup conditioner (white or plain, without added color) or plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (helps set the color)
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil or olive oil (for extra shine)
Instructions
- Brew a strong cup of coffee and let it cool to room temperature.
- In a bowl, mix the coffee, cocoa powder (if using), conditioner (or yogurt), apple cider vinegar, and oil until you have a smooth paste.
- Drape an old towel around your shoulders and wear gloves to avoid staining your hands and clothes.
- Apply the mixture generously to clean, damp hair, starting at the roots and working through to the ends.
- Massage the mixture into your scalp and hair to ensure even coverage.
- Cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic wrap and let it sit for at least 1 hour (the longer, the deeper the color).
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water — do not use shampoo immediately to let the color set.
- Repeat once a week or as needed to maintain the color and cover new white hair.
