INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup strong brewed organic coffee (cooled)
- 2–3 tablespoons instant coffee or used coffee grounds
- 1/2 cup leave-in conditioner (optional but helps in easy application)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (to help seal the color and add shine)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Brew the coffee:
Brew 1 cup of very strong coffee. Let it cool completely. - Mix the ingredients:
In a bowl, combine the brewed coffee, instant coffee/grounds, and leave-in conditioner. Stir well until you get a smooth, thick paste. Add the apple cider vinegar and mix again. - Apply to hair:
On clean, damp hair, apply the coffee mixture evenly from roots to tips. Make sure to massage it into areas with white or gray hair thoroughly. - Cover and wait:
Wrap your hair in a shower cap or old towel. Leave the mixture in your hair for at least 1 hour for deeper color. The longer you wait, the more effective the staining. - Rinse:
Rinse your hair thoroughly with lukewarm water. Avoid using shampoo immediately to let the color set. - Repeat weekly:
For best results and deeper color, repeat the treatment 1–2 times a week.
💡 Tips:
- Works best on brown to dark hair tones.
- This is a gradual, natural color treatment—perfect if you’re avoiding harsh dyes.
- Add a few drops of rosemary or sage essential oil for added hair benefits and aroma.
