Ingredients
- Henna powder (about 4-6 tablespoons depending on hair length)
- Coffee grounds (2 tablespoons)
- Cocoa powder (1 tablespoon)
- Lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
- Olive oil or coconut oil (2 tablespoons)
- Water (enough to make a paste)
- Aloe vera gel (optional, for extra shine)
Instructions
- Prepare the Henna Mix:
- In a bowl, combine henna powder with coffee grounds and cocoa powder. These ingredients will help deepen the brown color and cover white hair.
- Gradually add water to the mixture, stirring until you form a smooth paste (like a thick yogurt consistency).
- Add Lemon Juice and Oils:
- Mix in the lemon juice, olive or coconut oil, and optional aloe vera gel. The oils will help keep your hair soft and moisturized, and the lemon juice helps with color absorption.
- Let the Mixture Sit:
- Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap or cloth and let the mixture sit for about 2-3 hours to allow the henna to release its color.
- Apply the Mixture to Hair:
- Before applying, ensure your hair is clean and dry. Wear gloves to prevent staining your hands.
- Section your hair and apply the henna paste generously from root to tip, focusing more on areas with white or gray hair.
- Cover and Wait:
- Once your hair is fully coated, cover it with a shower cap or plastic wrap to prevent mess. Let the mixture sit on your hair for about 1-3 hours, depending on how deep you want the color. The longer it sits, the more intense the color will be.
- Rinse and Condition:
- Rinse out the henna paste with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Avoid shampooing for the first 24 hours to allow the color to set properly.
- Use a conditioner afterward to keep your hair soft and shiny.
- Repeat if Necessary:
- If you prefer a darker brown, you can repeat the process after a week or two to build up the color.
Enjoy your naturally shiny brown hair with a beautiful, natural shine!
