Dump and Prepare Meatball Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (about 24 oz) frozen fully cooked meatballs
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pasta sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 8 oz uncooked pasta (like penne or rotini)
  • 2 cups water or beef broth
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  3. Dump uncooked pasta into the dish, spreading evenly.
  4. Pour in the water or broth and stir to cover the pasta.
  5. Add frozen meatballs on top of the pasta.
  6. Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the meatballs.
  7. Sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  8. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 35–40 minutes, until pasta is tender.
  9. Remove foil, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
  10. Return to oven uncovered and bake for another 10–15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
