Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup whole milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt or loaf pan.
- Cream butter and cream cheese together in a large bowl until smooth and fluffy.
- Add sugar gradually and continue beating until light and airy.
- Incorporate eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the wet mixture, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60-75 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
