Don’t Throw Away Overripe Bananas! Make Natural Banana Candy with Only 4 Ingredients! My Kids Love This

Ingredients

  • 3–4 overripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the bananas: Peel the overripe bananas and mash them in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Add flavor: Stir in the honey, lemon juice, and cinnamon (if using) until fully combined.
  3. Shape: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the banana mixture in a thin, even layer. You can also pipe or spoon small rounds for bite-sized candies.
  4. Dry:
    • Oven method: Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C). Bake for 2–3 hours, flipping halfway through, until the banana pieces are dry but still chewy.
    • Dehydrator method: Dry at 135°F (57°C) for 6–8 hours or until desired chewiness.
  5. Cool & store: Let them cool completely. Cut into pieces if you made a sheet. Store in an airtight container.

Tip: These homemade banana candies are naturally sweet and chewy — perfect for lunchboxes or healthy snacks!
