Ingredients
- Peels of 2–3 organic oranges (avoid waxed ones)
- 1–2 inches fresh ginger root, sliced or grated
- 2 cups water
- Optional: 1 tbsp honey or lemon juice (for tea use)
- Optional: 1 tsp whole cloves or cinnamon stick (for added aroma or potency)
Instructions
- Rinse the orange peels thoroughly and cut them into small strips.
- Peel and slice or grate the ginger root.
- In a small saucepan, bring the 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the orange peels and ginger (plus any optional spices like cloves or cinnamon).
- Lower the heat and let it simmer for 10–15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Strain the liquid into a jar or mug.
- Use it as:
- A tea: Add honey or lemon juice and enjoy warm.
- A natural cleaner: Let it cool, then pour into a spray bottle for a citrus-fresh surface cleaner.
- A home air freshener: Simmer it uncovered for a refreshing scent throughout your kitchen or house.
