Ingredients
- Peels from 2 large oranges (preferably organic, thoroughly washed)
- 1 large piece fresh ginger (about 3–4 inches), sliced thinly
- 4 cups water
- 2–3 tablespoons honey (optional, for sweetness)
- Juice of 1 lemon (optional, for extra freshness)
Instructions
- Rinse the orange peels well to remove any residue.
- Slice the peels into thin strips.
- In a pot, combine the orange peels, sliced ginger, and water.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20–30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and strain the liquid into a teapot or jar.
- Stir in honey and lemon juice if using.
- Serve warm as a tea or let it cool and refrigerate — it’s delicious cold too!
Tip: This simple drink is refreshing and may help with digestion and immunity. The leftover boiled peels and ginger can also be dried and reused in potpourri or composted.
