Ingredients
- Peels from 2 organic oranges (washed thoroughly)
- 1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger (sliced)
- 5–6 whole cloves
- 3–4 cups water
- Optional: 1–2 teaspoons honey or lemon juice (for flavor)
Instructions
- Rinse orange peels well to remove any residual dirt or wax. If using non-organic oranges, soak peels in vinegar water for 10 minutes and rinse again.
- In a pot, bring the water to a boil.
- Add the sliced ginger, orange peels, and cloves to the boiling water.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 15–20 minutes, covered.
- Remove from heat and let it steep for an additional 5 minutes.
- Strain the mixture into a mug or jar.
- Add honey or lemon juice if desired. Enjoy warm or chilled!
