Ingredients
- 2-3 fresh aloe vera leaves
- 1 cup coconut oil (or carrier oil of your choice: olive oil, castor oil, or almond oil)
- 1 tablespoon fenugreek seeds (optional, for added benefits)
- 10-12 curry leaves (optional, for nourishing properties)
Instructions
- Prepare the Aloe Vera Gel:
- Cut the aloe vera leaves into sections and remove the thorny edges.
- Slice the leaf open lengthwise and scoop out the clear gel using a spoon.
- Blend Ingredients (Optional):
- If you prefer a smoother texture, blend the aloe vera gel, fenugreek seeds, and curry leaves into a paste.
- Heat the Oil:
- In a small, heavy-bottomed pan, add your coconut oil. Heat it on low flame until it warms up.
- Add the aloe vera gel (or paste) and stir well.
- Simmer:
- Keep the mixture on low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 10-15 minutes.
- The aloe vera and other ingredients will release their nutrients into the oil.
- When the mixture turns golden brown and aromatic, turn off the heat.
- Cool and Strain:
- Allow the oil to cool completely.
- Strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to separate the oil from the residue.
- Store:
- Pour the strained oil into a clean, dry glass jar or bottle. Store it in a cool, dark place.
- Use:
- Apply the oil to your scalp and hair, massaging gently for 5-10 minutes.
- Leave it on for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
- Wash off with a mild shampoo. Use 2-3 times a week for optimal benefits.
