Ingredients
- 1 large fresh ginger root (about 3–4 inches), peeled and sliced
- 1 large orange (preferably organic), sliced
- 4 cups filtered water
- 1 tablespoon raw honey (optional)
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder (optional, for extra anti-inflammatory benefit)
- Juice of ½ lemon (optional, for added detox boost)
Instructions
- Rinse the ginger root and orange thoroughly. Slice the ginger thinly and cut the orange into rounds.
- In a medium pot, bring the 4 cups of filtered water to a boil.
- Add the sliced ginger to the boiling water. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10–15 minutes.
- Remove the pot from heat and add the orange slices. Let it steep for another 5–10 minutes.
- Strain the liquid into a mug or jar. If you’d like, stir in raw honey, turmeric, or fresh lemon juice while the tea is still warm (but not boiling hot).
- Sip warm or cool. Enjoy once a day, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach for gentle detox support.
Tip:
Store any leftover detox tea in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently, but avoid boiling again to keep nutrients intact.
