- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
- Add cheese: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly coated with flour mixture.
- Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just combined—do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired, and slice to serve.
