- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter or oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips, berries, or nuts for added flavor
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease the cups.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips, berries, or nuts.
- Divide the batter evenly between the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
