Instructions
- Prepare Filling
- In a bowl, combine mashed potatoes (or béchamel sauce) with chopped meat/fish/vegetables.
- Add onion, garlic, cheese, and seasonings. Mix until well combined.
- Shape Croquettes
- Take a small portion of the mixture and shape into small rolls, patties, or oval balls.
- Place on a tray and chill in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes to firm up.
- Coat
- Roll each croquette first in flour, then dip into beaten egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Make sure each piece is well coated for a crispy finish.
- Cook
- Frying: Heat oil in a pan and fry croquettes until golden brown and crispy (about 3–4 minutes per side).
- Baking: Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F), brush croquettes with a little oil, and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Serve
- Drain fried croquettes on paper towels if frying.
- Serve hot with ketchup, garlic mayo, or any dipping sauce of your choice.
