Crockpot Barbecue Ribs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 to 3 pounds of pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ribs:
    • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
  2. Season the Ribs:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Rub this spice mixture all over the ribs.
  3. Combine Sauce Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, combine the barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar. Stir until well mixed.
  4. Layer in the Crockpot:
    • Place the ribs in the crockpot, standing them up if necessary. Pour the barbecue sauce mixture over the ribs, making sure they are well-coated.
  5. Cook the Ribs:
    • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours. The ribs should be tender and pull apart easily.
  6. Serve:
    • Once cooked, carefully remove the ribs from the crockpot and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.

Enjoy your delicious, tender crockpot barbecue ribs!
