Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
- 1/4 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella), optional
- 8–10 egg roll wrappers or spring roll wrappers
- 1 egg (for sealing edges)
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce (if using), paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Optional: Mix in shredded cheese once the beef has slightly cooled.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface. Place 2–3 tablespoons of beef mixture near one corner.
- Roll tightly, folding in the sides, and seal the final edge with a bit of beaten egg.
- Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry the rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3–4 minutes per batch.
- Drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
