Crispy Garlic Mushroom Bites

Ingredients

  • 250g button mushrooms (cleaned and dried)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2–3 fresh garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crispiness)
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the coating:
In one bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
In another bowl, place the beaten eggs.
In a third bowl, place breadcrumbs mixed with minced fresh garlic.
  2. Coat the mushrooms:
Dip each mushroom first in the flour mixture, then in egg, then roll in the breadcrumb-garlic mix until fully coated.
  3. Heat the oil:
In a deep pan or fryer, heat oil to medium-high (about 350°F / 175°C).
  4. Fry until golden:
Fry mushrooms in batches until crispy and golden brown (about 2–3 minutes). Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. Serve:
Enjoy hot with ranch, garlic mayo, or your favorite dipping sauce!
