They offer the perfect balance of crunch on the outside and juicy, tangy flavor inside. Ideal for parties, game nights, or as a quick treat, these fried pickles pair perfectly with dipping sauces like ranch or spicy mayo.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups dill pickle slices (drained and patted dry)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornmeal (optional for extra crunch)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • Oil for deep frying

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Heat oil in a deep pan to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Pat pickle slices dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk together.
  5. Dip each pickle slice into the egg mixture, then coat in the flour mixture.
  6. Carefully place coated pickles into hot oil.
  7. Fry for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

TIPS:

  • Always dry pickles well to keep coating crispy.
  • Add chili powder or cayenne for a spicy kick.
  • Use breadcrumbs or panko instead of cornmeal for a different texture.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan while frying.
  • Serve immediately for best crunch.
