Ingredients
- 3 medium potatoes, boiled and peeled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella for a gooey center)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (or all-purpose flour)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for coating)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, mash the boiled potatoes until smooth.
- Add shredded cheese, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small bite-sized balls or patties.
- Dip each ball into the beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- Fry the potato bites in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with ketchup, garlic mayo, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Tip: For a healthier option, air-fry at 200°C (390°F) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
If you like, I can also make a baked version so these turn out crispy without deep frying. Would you like me to add that?
