Crispy Broccoli Cheese Balls Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets, finely chopped (steamed or blanched)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (divided: ½ cup for mixture, ½ cup for coating)
  • 2 eggs (1 for mixture, 1 for coating)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil, for frying (or use an air fryer)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Broccoli:
Finely chop steamed or blanched broccoli and pat dry to remove excess moisture.
  2. Mix Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine broccoli, cheddar cheese, Parmesan, ½ cup breadcrumbs, 1 beaten egg, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form Balls:
Scoop out about a tablespoon of the mixture and roll into small balls.
  4. Coat the Balls:
Beat the second egg in a small bowl. Dip each ball into the egg, then roll in the remaining breadcrumbs to coat.
  5. Fry or Air Fry:
    • To Fry: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry balls in batches until golden brown and crispy (about 3–4 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
    • To Air Fry: Spray balls lightly with oil. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes or until golden and crisp, shaking halfway through.
  6. Serve:
Enjoy hot with your favorite dip—like ranch, garlic mayo, or marinara!
