Ingredients:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp ginger powder
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp green onions (chopped, for garnish)
- Cooking spray
Instructions:
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, garlic powder, and ginger powder. Mix well.
- Marinate the Chicken: Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Let the chicken sit for at least 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.
- Coat with Cornstarch: After marinating, remove the chicken pieces and toss them in cornstarch, shaking off any excess. This will give the chicken a crispy exterior.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for 5 minutes.
- Air-Fry the Chicken: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the chicken pieces in a single layer, making sure they are not touching each other. Lightly spray the top of the chicken with more cooking spray. Air-fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and crispy.
- Toast the Sesame Seeds: While the chicken is cooking, lightly toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden and fragrant.
- Garnish and Serve: Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the air fryer and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately with rice or vegetables.
Enjoy your crispy, flavorful air-fried sesame chicken!
