Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup warm milk (whole milk recommended)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking dish (around 8×8 inches or similar size).
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this to the egg mixture, folding gently until just combined.
- Slowly pour in the warm milk while stirring constantly until you get a smooth batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for about 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool slightly. Optional: For extra creaminess, poke holes in the cake and pour an additional ½ cup of sweetened condensed milk or evaporated milk over the top.
- Serve warm or chilled, topped with whipped cream, fresh berries, or a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
