Ingredients
For the White Sauce:
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
For the Lasagna:
- 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
- 3 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie works great)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup fresh spinach (optional)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the White Sauce:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly add milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly until smooth.
- Stir in garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese. Simmer until thickened.
- Assemble the Lasagna:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of white sauce.
- Layer 3 lasagna noodles, followed by shredded chicken, ricotta, spinach, and a sprinkle of mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheese.
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, finishing with noodles, white sauce, and remaining cheese on top.
- Bake:
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown.
- Serve:
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
