    • 1 pound lump crab meat, picked over for shells
  • Dairy & Creamy Base:
    • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 1/2 cup sour cream
    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or Monterey Jack)
  • Seasoning & Flavor:
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garnish (Optional):
    • Chopped fresh parsley or chives
    • Lemon wedges

Instructions:

  1. Preheat & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish (about 9-inch round or oval) with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Combine Creamy Base: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add mayonnaise, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add Flavorings: Stir in lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Fold in Crab Meat: Gently fold in the lump crab meat, being careful not to break up the lumps too much.
  5. Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the crab mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
  7. Garnish & Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with chopped parsley or chives, if desired. Serve hot with crackers, toasted baguette slices, tortilla chips, or vegetables like celery and carrots.

Tips and Notes:

  • Lump Crab Meat: Use high-quality lump crab meat for the best flavor and texture.
  • Cheese Variations: You can use other cheeses like Gruyère or Swiss for a different flavor profile.
  • Spice Level: Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to control the heat level.
  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the dip ahead of time and refrigerate it. Bake it when you’re ready to serve, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.
  • Broil for Browning: For extra browning on top, you can broil the dip for the last 1-2 minutes of baking, watching carefully to prevent burning.
