Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 200g semi-sweet chocolate (chopped or chips)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thicker texture)
- Crushed peppermint candy or chocolate shavings (for garnish)
- Whipped cream (optional topping)
Instructions
- Heat the Milk & Cream:
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, milk, and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved and the mixture is warm (do not boil). - Melt the Chocolate:
Add the chopped chocolate and butter into the warm cream mixture. Stir constantly until the chocolate melts completely and the mixture is smooth. - Thicken (Optional):
If you’d like a thicker dessert, mix cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water, then stir it into the hot mixture. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened. - Add Vanilla:
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. - Chill or Serve Warm:
You can pour the mixture into serving glasses and refrigerate for a chilled mousse-like dessert, or serve warm like a creamy pudding. - Top It Off:
Before serving, top with whipped cream and garnish with crushed peppermint or chocolate shavings for that extra Christmas sparkle.
Would you like me to add a no-bake option or make it more decadent with layers like crushed cookies or cake crumbs?
