INGREDENT

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (28–32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add diced onion and garlic, sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, pepper, and mixed vegetables.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Transfer the meat mixture into a 9×13″ baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle 1 cup of the cheddar cheese evenly over the meat layer.
  8. Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until tots are golden and crispy.
  10. Sprinkle remaining cheese over the top and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until melted.
  11. Garnish with parsley and serve warm!
