INGREDENT
- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- Salt & pepper to taste
- ½ cup beef broth
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 (28–32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and garlic, sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, pepper, and mixed vegetables.
- Pour in the beef broth and simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Transfer the meat mixture into a 9×13″ baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of the cheddar cheese evenly over the meat layer.
- Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until tots are golden and crispy.
- Sprinkle remaining cheese over the top and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until melted.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm!
