Ingredients:

For the Apple Filling:

  • 2 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), peeled, cored, and diced  
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Bread:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda  
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
