Ingredients

For the Bread:

  • 1/3 cup (75g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup (130g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Apple Mixture:

  • 2 cups (240g) peeled and diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl:

  • 1/3 cup (65g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tsp milk or cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Apple Mixture:
In a small bowl, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Make the Batter:
    • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    • Mix in the milk until smooth.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. Assemble the Bread:
    • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
    • Evenly sprinkle half of the apple mixture over the batter.
    • Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, then sprinkle half of it over the apples.
    • Repeat the layers with the remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon sugar. Gently swirl the layers together with a knife for a marbled effect.
  5. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Glaze:
    • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
    • In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar with 2–3 teaspoons of milk until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread.
  7. Serve:
Slice and enjoy your delicious Country Apple Fritter Bread with coffee or tea!
