Ingredients
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup full-fat milk
- 1/4 cup sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional for thickening)
- Toppings: chocolate shavings, fresh fruit, crushed nuts, or coconut flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the base:
- In a saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, and milk. Stir to blend all ingredients smoothly.
- Heat the mixture:
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Cook the mixture while stirring constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Let it heat up, but don’t bring it to a boil.
- Thicken the dessert (optional):
- If you prefer a thicker dessert, dissolve the cornstarch in a small amount of cold milk or water and stir it into the warm milk mixture. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until it thickens to your desired consistency.
- Add flavor:
- Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt for flavor. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding sugar, if needed.
- Chill:
- Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool down to room temperature. Once cooled, transfer it to serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
- Serve:
- Before serving, top with your favorite toppings such as chocolate shavings, fresh fruit, crushed nuts, or coconut flakes for added flavor and texture.
