- 1 can (14 oz / 400g) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round or square cake pan.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, beat together the butter and condensed milk until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add dry ingredients: Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold this into the wet mixture until just combined—don’t overmix.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and serve: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve plain, dusted with powdered sugar, or with whipped cream and fruit.
