Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups (320g) all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
- ¼ cup (60ml) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tbsp (30g) sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup (120ml) warm milk
- 3 tbsp (45g) unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add egg, sweetened condensed milk, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour and mix to form a soft dough.
- Knead in the softened butter until the dough is smooth and elastic (about 10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes with a stand mixer).
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or rolls as desired. Place in a greased loaf pan or baking dish.
- Cover and let rise again for about 30–45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush the top with a little extra milk or beaten egg for shine.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Let cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
